Your Comments
I welcome and strongly value your comments and discussions here on Vivid Ways. I love hearing your thoughts on the articles.
Your comments help shape the conversation here and add personal experiences, taking ideas way beyond what I could ever hope for.
Whether you’re the first to leave a comment or the last one to join in the discussion, your view is important. It could be that your insight is exactly what someone else is looking for.
I’m also keen to hear your thoughts on the older articles here on Vivid Ways. So, please feel free to comment on previous articles from the Archives.
My aim is to build a thriving community where you feel free to express yourself, to share your thoughts and ideas, and to contribute your views as fully as possible.
To support this aim, I encourage comments that:
- are relevant, meaningful and add value to the content of the article
- are responses to comments left by other readers
- have a positive, upbeat and constructive tone
- might disagree with the content of the article, but follow the above guidance
I will delete comments, without notice, that:
- contain abusive, threatening, defamatory or offensive language
- attack or insult an individual or group
Comment Guidelines and Information
Comment moderation
If you’re a new commenter, your first comment will be held in moderation until it is approved by me. After this, your comments will appear without needing to wait for approval.
Gravatars
Your chosen profile image will show up next to your comment. You need to register with gravatar to have your own image displayed.
Links in comments
If you’re leaving a comment and want to include a relevant link to information on your own or another site that is appropriate to the topic of the article, then please feel free to do so.
Comments with links which are not relevant to the article you’re commenting on will be edited to take out the link or deleted, if necessary.
Before linking out within a comment, ask yourself whether the link adds value to the conversation and helps share useful knowledge within the community. If it does, include it. If it doesn’t, leave it out.
Keywords in comments
You have the opportunity to list your name and website URL with each comment and this information will automatically be remembered each time you leave a comment.
I prefer to address people by their name, so please do not enter a keyword phrase, business, product or service name as your name in the “YOUR NAME” field within the comment box.
So, if you want to join in the conversation with an interesting and thoughtful comment, please leave your name rather than a keyword. It looks like spam to other readers and you’re not likely to gain much respect within the community if you do it.
Spam
Vivid Ways has spam filters in place which automatically catch the majority of spam comments. Sometimes, legitimate comments go into the spam filter- especially if they include a link. If this happens, I will try to access these and post them for you as soon as possible.
Use of your comments
Please note that I regularly highlight comments that are shared by readers in the comment section. The terms of this policy mean that, by leaving a comment on Vivid Ways, you give permission for me to reproduce your words attributed to you with your name and website.
I reserve the right to amend this comment policy and guidelines without notice.
If you have questions or feedback regarding the comment policy, please contact me using the ‘Contact’ page.
I look forward to hearing from you!
